Sydney Harbour Bridge 1930 (Records NSW)
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is the world’s largest (but not longest) steel-arch bridge. It was opened in 1932 and the bridge’s grey colour can be attributed to practicalities. Grey was the only colour paint available in such quantities at the time. Join us on a running tour as we explore the impact of the bridge including the infamous opening ceremony.

See Sydney in Motion.

Are you a first time visitor wanting a unique experience and a quick way to get the lay of the land?  Perhaps you’re a corporate traveler looking for a different way to stretch your legs after your long flight to the land downunder?  Or are you a Sydney-sider seeking a new twist to your well-trodden running route? Our historical running tours give you the city’s fascinating stories of yesteryear and the best viewing points unknown to most locals, all while you get a work-out that’s as intensive as you choose to make it.  We are passionate locals who can’t wait to showcase everything that our city has to offer.  Let us show you Sydney in Motion today!

Sydney in Motion running tour

Sydney in Motion’s signature historical running tour is what has put us on the map as one of Sydney’s best sightseeing tours.  The tour lasts 90 minutes and covers a total distance of approximately 6km (3.7 miles).

We cover Sydney’s most famous landmarks including:

  • Town Hall
  • Queen Victoria Building
  • Hyde Park
  • Parliament House
  • Royal Botanic Gardens
  • Sydney Opera House
  • Sydney Harbour Bridge
  • Circular Quay
  • The Rocks

But we don’t stop there, otherwise you could simply replace us with a Lonely Planet book or a plain jogging map!  Your tour guide, being a true local with a genuine interest in Sydney, will also let you in on many of the city’s secrets, unknown to even the most committed Sydneysiders – a hidden perfume bottle in Hyde Park, an ancient underwater stream and a memorial to eternity are just some of the mysteries we unravel.

Sydney in Motion power walking tour

We realise that running isn’t for everyone and for some, it’s downright horrifying – but that doesn’t mean you should miss out on the best that Sydney has to offer.  We also offer a power-walking option, available on request.  The power-walking tour also lasts 90 minutes and covers 90% of the sites seen on the running tour.
